"My Lights Are Blinking" Quick Tip
Because the 1967-1972 cab and radiator supports are separated from the frame by rubber mounts. GM used a small mount woven wire ground strap that by-passes one cab mount. This insures electrical flow even if the cab mount bolts become rusted and electrical current can not flow properly.
You must be under the cab to see this by-pass cable. Yes, GM planned for the trucks later years when rusty mounting hardware caused the lights to dim. Courtesy of Jim Carter |

Ground straps. There will also be one from the fire wall to the rear of the engine at the passenger side and then on the drivers side from the engine to the frame. As well as one attached to the passenger side inner fender and then to the frame.

Re: "My Lights Are Blinking" Quick Tip
I have a question. When I pulled off my radiator support one of the mounts had a steel strap that kinda wrapped around the support bushing. Is it some kind of grounding strap? When I took it off I though it was to help hold the bushing parts together, but now I'm not so sure...
