Striaght six 230
 
I need some opinions i found a striaght six 230 for 100$ the guy said it was running but he just put in a fresh rebuild engine in his truck and didnt need it but my question is is it worth 100$ how hard would it be to put it in a 1971 c10 that had a 350 by the way its toast an well a 3-speed TH350 or a TH200 automatic transmission bolt up to the 230 engine transmission is out of a 83 oldsmobile delta 88 any help at all please thanks

See if he'll let you take some time doing a compression test. If it comes with all accessories, and cylinders all check out, go for it. It should be a direct bolt in, same bellhousing bolt pattern, but you will have to get some a/t brackets if they don't come with the six deal

No accessories come with it and not trying to sound dumb but whats a/t brackets

A/T, "automatic transmission". It's a question, theirs no dumb here. That's what forums are about

One more question what about a drive shaft stock should fit right?

You would have to measure your transmissions to answer that one

A short tail TH350 will match the manual 3spd length more or less. The driveshaft will take up any in or out slack
