The thing about these tranny isn't the flywheel to use, it's the clutch. The input on these is ginormous. Can't use a stock flywheel, that is why they have those adaptor plates on there. A 427 is internally balanced, so in theory you could use the 427 flywheel. They used SBC in those applications too, so you could always snag one of those. I wanted to go with a tranny like this, just with 5th being an overdrive. But, trying to find one and get a clutch/flywheel would be tough and expensive. If you could swap out the input from a 465, or could get one, that would be nice...
