When using SODA for blasting you need to use the etching primer that prevents an adhesion problem. Without the proper primer you would have a adhesion problem. I was told after using soda you use a mild detergent & water blow dry with air then etch prime. I know of a person who didn't and the regular primer never stuck on his cowl it had to be re-blasted.
