Thanks for the reply. the feeler gauge trick worked awesome at finding the clips. Turns out i had a trim tool. it looks like this one. it seemed to work great. i did very little damage to the bedside trim.
I just bought a tach dash for this thing too. im assuming ill have to run the extra wire for the tach through the harness? Ive got 2 complete spare harnesses so i can steal a wire from them.
