No. None of the old hands I asked were familiar with the "roundbody" naming.
I had a nice visit with one of the guys. He is 72 years old and still working. He started in 1966 and his first assignment was as the design engineer for the underbody "tub" for the '68 Corvette. It was mostly carryover and they figured a new guy couldn't screw it up too badly.
