Looks like a great starting point. Good luck!

I repaired my gas tank without too much trouble. I dropped it, cleaned it inside and out pretty good with Castrol Super Clean. I ran a ton of water through so it would be safe to use a torch and solder the holes closed. Mine had rust through in a few spots. I cut sheet metal patches and sanded the the tank areas and used muratic acid to prep the metal. I used solder and an acetylene plumbers torch to seal the holes.
