As long as all the under bracing is done properly, it should be plenty safe. 3/4" quarter sawn white oak is very strong and is tied into the body very firmly with steel or aluminum bed rails and 6 5/16" bolts per rail. Factory 10 gauge steel plate that the original seat blets mounted to will be under there as well.
