The biggest demotivator I had on a project was being way over my head. I had a project car that needed pretty much every panel done, a real rust bucket. I am somewhat mechanically inclined but not even knowing where to start on much of that made me go and look, get frustrated and walk away. I was not looking forward to any part of that work. I ended up selling it and buying my 68 C-20 that didn't need any body work. Now I am excited to get out in the garage and work on my engine rebuild and finding other things to do while I am at it. So, your skill level, what is a chore vs fun comes in as well.
