For me it would depend on cost. Powder coating would be my preferred coating.
Costs seems to vary widely.
I had quotes for $400 to $700 just for the frame, no front cross member included. Added another $150 for the cross member. This price included blasting.
Note; The cross member had to be baked at 900 deg first to remove the grease, that added to the cost.
By the time you add blasting and painting supplies the dollar cost for powder coasting seems competitive to me.
