The trim on my '74 has been held on with 3M double sided molding tape for the past 20 years without an issue. It has held up really well, through storms, car washes, sun, hot/cold, etc. That stuff is tough to beat.
This is the specific tape I used, I got it from a body shop supply store and still have probably half a roll left.
