Chris, does your 70 C10 still have a 307? When I got my 69 it had a 307, but after adding a small 4bbl and dual exhaust thru turbo mufflers, the truck felt like it had 25% more power. And maybe it did!

I eventually replaced it with a 350, but always wished I had just rebuilt it using 64cc heads for improved flow and higher compression.

I think 307s get a bad rap because they were all low compression with 2bbl carb and single exhaust. I mean if a stroked 350 is cool, why not a stroked 283?

1969 C10 (not the current one) that I bought in the early 1980s. Paid $1200; sold for $1500 a few years later. Just a hint at the appreciation that was coming.
