Bolted together they will come out the front. Back in the 70s when I worked at the dealer we had a lift that would support the eng and trans for them do drop out the bottom as an assy. .. Had to pull the distributor, air cleaner and carb. remove the engine mount cups bolted to the block and the fan blade. I think that was it. I had a van for a few years myself and did an engine swap and took it out the pass door after removing the cyl heads, it was tight but it came out. I didn't feel like removing the front of the van and discharging the AC
