Re: Under Bed Gas Tank Suggestions

this may be helpful: https://help.summitracing.com/app/an...evel-sender%3F

the following is a table at that link:
Ohms / Resistance (Empty - Full)

Popular Models

0 - 90 Ohms Most GM cars, 1965 to Present.

73 - 10 Ohms Ford models (prior to 1989) and most Chrysler models.

240 - 33.5 Ohms Industry Standard. Works with many popular models.

0 - 30 Ohms Most GM models, prior to 1965

16 - 158 Ohms Most Ford models, 1989 and Newer.

I put a ford tank in a chevy using flea market moon eyes 240-33.5 gauge. new sender came from the local import hardware store (Princess Auto) Used the mounting plate from the ford tank, cut the ford sender off, welded the new sending unit to it, then cut and bent the float lever arm to get the right range of movement. Test it by flipping the tank upside down while connected to gauge before you install.

that should work for any compatible sender & gauge as long as sender is made of metal so you can weld it.

to make my life easier I mounted the sender rheostat at the half full height, leveled so there was equal up and down travel. Then I just had to make the float lever arm the right length to touch the top and bottom of the tank at the limits of travel of the sender.
