Put one piece of tape on the inside of one tire. Line up with an easily recognizable spot (or another piece of tape on the ground or inner fender. Put one piece of tape on your pinion yoke. Again, line up with an easily recognizable spot. I did mine with the pinion yoke mark pointed straight down to the ground.

Open Diff: Make two full rotations of the tire, count how many revolutions you have on the pinion yoke. Only lift one tire off the ground to do this.

Posi Diff: Make one full rotation of the tire, count how many revolutions you have on the pinion yoke. Need both tires off the ground.
