Re: Am I Missing Something?

The average 67-72 truck out here is 1500 to 3800 for long beds. Longhorns seem to be falling in at about the 2500 range out here where I am and in the swap sheets. 6000 normally brings a truck about 3/4 of the way restored minis paint job and some attention to detail items like rubber for the doors or window tracks. Motor should be clean and healthy. Everything has to function well. My longhorn is worth about 7600 but I wouldn't be able to get more then two grand most likely as an example. There is still allot that needs done to it, but it is a healthy drive train and just about everything rubber has been replaced. If you’re shooting for a goal to get a short bed truck, the desert areas are a great place to start if your wanting to restore with no rust. There are allot of them around out here and allot of Longhorns both GMC and Chevy. Oh yea, you have the El Centro Area on through Palm Springs also near you.
After looking at your picture of that truck on Craigslist, No Way I would pay over 2500 for that one in the picture. I guarantee there is rust in the cab floor and in the rockers. Used Campers are cheap out here as well. Good Luck on your short bed.
