Some incredible mileage stories with 6.2s. Makes me wonder how two identical engines/drivetrains/tires can get such different (like 10mpg) mileage. My '85 Jimmy w/6.2/700r4/NP208/3.08s/235/75-15s got 22. With diesel torque you can actually keep your mileage when increasing to larger tires and going to lower gears. It now has 12.50/35 tires and 4.10s and still gets 22 mpg. So did my '91 6.2 Suburban with the same axles and tires. That's hwy mileage.
