It says it beats a competitors v8 by 47 horsepower. I don't think they could have been talking about a 6.2 diesel...

I'm not bashing them. I've driven 6.2 diesels over 200k miles and seen over 25 mpg a couple times. My 86 that I loved and drove the most would get 23 on the highway on a regular basis.

My best guess is the "special economy truck" was a 305/2.73 geared truck with the manual OD trans (Its still a 4 speed by the way, not a 5 speed. It's a Chrysler/New Process A833 http://www.hemmings.com/mus/stories/...feature17.html)
