Really as far as that goes that tbi spacer ring doesn't even need to be on there with that air cleaner, it should clear everything fine without it and free up the air flow to the injectors at the same time. Just need the offset stud or cut the stock one down to work with your air cleaner. That style is terrible for coming apart and falling into the motor.
I just noticed this today looking back on the ol truck. That whole motor was bad new. Just everything about it. Drank oil like you wouldn't believe, and was always just quirky. I loved that truck though and i really miss it. what i dont love is the 3/4 ton ride, that got old after a little while. The air cleaner was a POS for sure though...
