I am more of a fan of the bench seat.
Benches are just more versatile... They are comfortable, they allow you to lay across them when you are parked and needing to stretch out - either with your feet up out the window or the door open, they allow a 3rd person to squeeze in for a short trip, your dog is more comfortable on them - allowing them to lay down next to you as you drive, then best of all they allow your significant other to get close to you on those long drives
Buckets are cool though, but I personally find the bench better.
