I went from doing my own bodywork and paint to having that done. I was busy, so making good money, and wanted top quality. Now I'm broke, so back to doing my own. I got out of HS, didn't know what I wanted to do, but figured no matter what way I went I wanted to be able to do things for myself, even if I ended up rich. Plus, those skills can get you a job.
