I had an engine in a truck I've bought leak like a sieve, no crankcase ventilation, old style valve covers. I put the correct valve covers on with PCV and breather on other side, tightened up all bolts, and no leaks... except vacuum on intake due to leaking valley gasket. Sounded like a tea kettle

. Pulled that, resealed, good to go.
