Quick update, today I scored a big block that is going to go into the Updated version of the ‘57. All the machine work is done to the block, fresh hone, it’s already decked and checked. Crank is already polished. Pistons and rods are checked and good as well. The vortec heads will need rebuilt but I may go with a better flowing set anyway. Here’s a pic of the bare vortec 454 block. The cylinders are fresh but have a very light film of surface rust that comes off with a rag. I’m going to clean them up and hit them with wd40.
