I knew a guy who had a '72 Vega wagon with a mid-'70s Buick V6 in it. Looked totally stock. The only "nod" to its performance was that the bump in the middle section of the hood was painted orange. The car itself was white. Of course, later years of the Vega never got a V6 or a V8, though the Chevy Monzas did. Same basic car with different exterior sheet metal, really. One of my younger sisters bought a Monza with a 305. That thing rocked, in spite of all the SMOG equipment. When she went to sell it, her husband was adamant that he wouldn't sell a used car to a family member, so it got away from us performance modifying nuts.
