well i was able to mess with the truck a bit this weekend. It is fun trying to figure out where all the steering column parts go when you are not the one that took it apart. I found out the reason it was torn down is the cam that hits the starter switch broke off. That has been replaced before i took ownership.
As far as the column goes, the key switch does not move the cam enough to activate the starter switch, so i need to play with the gear placement some more. I was able to get it to turn over by using vice grips on the starter rod. which leads me to my no fuel issue. I have power to both pumps, but they are dead as a hammer(intank pump/sender). Does anyone have a preferred brand to go with? (TBI truck) my tank straps are also rusted in half so i scored some at the pick and pull for $11 just need to give them a good cleaning and paint.
