And there-in lies the stupidity of the whole process. It can barely pass the actual emissions test by less than .05% based on 80's standards & have every little do-dad it's supposed to & they'll approve it.

But... It could actually burn much cleaner on actual emissions (like a newer vehicle) yet be failed because a 'visual' inspection says a specific part is missing. So even though that EGR isn't there any more & it pollutes half as much as the standards require, it's a fail.

You know.... Saving the Planet & all.
