If your serial number starts with an EC then it’s a 1946 series truck, model year 47. The F series started in July of 1947. GMC called them the 47 “Second Series”. They featured restyled Chevrolet “Advance Design” cabs.
The 1 ton trucks from 1939-1953 had the 228 engine. 1954 had the 248 engine.
