I know what you mean brother...
I try to "complete" something, anything, at least once a week.
I got my motor together and fired it up on my home made test stand and found the rear main seal I installed leaking.
That's why I start new motors on a stand before installing them.
This weekend I hope to have it back together with a new rear main that replaced the old-new rear main.
I want to drive my truck..... I have been looking at it long enough!
