This is going to be my daily driver, but i want some oomph if i feel like it.
i have a performer intake and an edlebrock 1406 600cfm carb. Im planning on going with some vortec heads 170cc intake w/64cc combustion chambers. The cam im looking at is the comp xe262H: Duration @ 0.006": 262° / 270° Duration @ 0.050": 218° / 224°
Max Lift w/ 1.5RR: .462" / .469" Lobe Separation: 110°
Lobe ID#'s: 5442 / 5201

i was just wondering what to expect/thoughts on this set up. Thanks!
Search about stock vortec heads max lift, some guys say even your cam would be too aggressive for them - at the very least most guys seem to suggest you'd be right on the edge and would have to measure your actual set of heads to see if you can even run that lift. That said if you want to run an aggressive cam you can have the heads machined or do it yourself with the comp cams cutting tool, but no idea on how reliable that is.
