and he helped me get this thing bench tested and thought I would share. I think the pics show it but it goes like this

First I had the original antenna and connected it to the back of the radio, then..

Battery neg post to radio body for ground

Battery pos post to the middle tab connector at the base of the back radio

The white alligator clip I have is on the middle speaker tab of the connector and on the positive wire from the speaker which should be an 8 ohm speaker not a 4 ohm. I had a 6 ohm rated speaker and made a quick test to see, I didnt run it long to potentially cause any damage to the unit since the resistors are meant for 8 ohms.

The lastly the smaller back alligator clip cable I have was connected to the neg wire of the speaker and clipped to be grounded to the radio case

And I was stoked to find that it is in working condition!!! So thankful to Greg for the help!!!!
