Yeah I could see how those studs could cause a problem if you don't pull the engine out first.
I plan on removing the engine, pulling the tubular perches, then installing the sheetmetal perches and sitting the engine back in.
The only reason I'm doing mine that way is because I'm moving the engine 2" towards the firewall and I'm going to have to drill holes in the crossmember and frame rails.
