The average local quote was $18K for shops that deal with old cars (ie: not collisions shops run by Bob's uncle where it sits in the corner until they have nothing else to work on - ie: paint jail).

I wound up sending the cab and bed to Musclecar Restorations in Wisconsin, as I'd used them before. The quote was $20K and by the time I finished up with the aforementioned extras and a couple of others, it was $25K.

But yes, you can probably get a truck painted at Maaco for $1200 or something. And for some trucks it'd be a really wise investment.
