Re: Post your C/L finds for everyone to enjoy!

When I moved back To Washington from Texas with my 48 in 1977 it had an Engine change notation on the title and used the number off the door post. The WSP inspector didn't pay any attention to the Engine Change note as Washington uses the door post number to begin with. A quick look at the door tag that was pretty well covered with paint and had the spot were the numbers were scraped off so you could read them and fill out the paperwork.

The only time the printed info on the plate might come into play is if you were pulled over heavily overloaded or pulling a heavy trailer and got checked for being overweight. Years ago the gal who was selling me my tabs asked how much weight I wanted to show (you pay tax on tonnage here) and then listed the truck at 1/4 ton which is the minimum for a pickup.

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
