You'll have to get the number directly off your original compressor decal. It is the build date for the compressor itself. It will precede the build date of your truck (usually by at least 2 weeks or so). See 71CHEVYSHORTBED402's pic in post #8. His compressor was built on Sept 16 1970 in the first shift, but the build date of his truck would be later in September or possibly early in October.

If you don't have your original decal...then about all you can do is pick an arbitrary date and shift in December. I wouldn't expect dates to follow quite as close around the holidays...so maybe mid December.
