Okay, I feel stupid - that makes total sense Steevee!

Well, I am now looking at a AED Performance 1/2 Birchwood spacer for Quadra Jet. I emailed them a bit ago and John already emailed me back, he recommended the 1/2 over the 1 inch.

Though I have to find bolts that are 1/2 longer and my own open gaskets. Since they only sell the spacer and don't have the other bits for sale. I am sure I'll end up buying the wrong bolts a few times...because that is just my luck.

I didn't think to look for vacuum leaks with the riser on, though if I had kept the 4 hole on long enough I would have put my gauge on it. I did in fact put my gauge on after I put everything back together without the spacer (still getting 19~20).

Should I be putting on some sealer between the gasket and the spacer (top and bottom)? Or on every side?
