Re: Palf's 1981 GMC

Last of the projects was fixing up the windshield wipers washer system. I had an old generic pump lying around, so I hooked it up. Even though I replaced the wiper motor too, I went with the generic one for 2 reasons. 1-my factory plugin connector would not plug into the washer motor. 2-I never really like the factory washer motors. They seem to die quickly .

The other thing I did was to get a set of wiper arms off an 86 (or 87...I can't remember now) C10. They have the washer squirters built into the arms and they had a much better blade connection method.

I had to drill out/open up the little slot in the cowl to allow the hose to come thru. Other than that they go right on to the older assembly mounts.

They work good. The 80's style wiper arm covers were on the truck so I reused them since I need to touch up the flat black paint on the lower portion of the wiper arms.

Now back to driving it.
