I had a similar problem with a pan on my 396.
The arched part was squeezed slightly in one spot and it would always leak right there.
I put a small flashlight in the pan and put the pan on dry so I could see exactly where I needed to massage the pan. Used a big piece of pipe (3 inch) and big hammer and after several tries got it perfect. Wacka, Wacka!
Might be the same problem with yours.

Test fit the new pan with a flashlight too.
Mine was an old pan.
