Almost, yes it does reduce NOx, but in doing so it reduces the combustion temperature which can cause pinging, especially under load. So depending on how the engine is built and how it is driven, who's to say. If you are going to have a built 400 and run a large carb and weekend drive it and run premium fuel, I'd say no. If it is a mild build and you plan on towing a travel trailer and daily drive it I'd say yes.
