With his rig being a 4X4, There should be no carrier bearing if I'm not mistaken..that's why he was so confused. However, i do agree to remove the driveshafts (yes...both) and inspect the U-joint bearings, then roll the shaft on a good flat piece of pavement looking for a bend. If there is any question about it being straight or not...go to a pro and pay him to look.
