You don't need a spring compressor for the c10 or c20 trucks. Take the precautions like the guys say. Leave the nut on partway till you break the ball joint loose. Then lower the control arm.

Thats what I did. Once the lower ball joint is loose and the nut off, I just lowered the floor Jack. the lower control arm pivoted open and spring basically fell out.
