Re: ChevyLand ‘The Truck Photo Tour’

I try To keep this thread to more pics than print.
But it is very hard to do sometimes.
I told a bit of this story in the Another ChevyLand Adventure thread
But it deserves repeating
I’ll try and keep it as short as possible

I saw this truck hit CL 19 minutes after it was posted (reply by email only)
It was listed as ( parts truck, no title)
And responded immediately
When I went back to the ad it was canceled
BUT, I had the link to the posters email
So, I emailed him several times a day, trying to get a response
Finally someone texted me ‘ the truck is sold’
I texted back , “I collect these trucks, please pass my # along, it is a very rare truck so if the buyer is going to part it, or flip it. I would like to speak to them”
Several days went by
One afternoon I got a call, the guy said, I bought that yellow truck. The person I got it from said you collect these trucks and you might have a spare gas tank?
I told him, I’ll give you a gas tank for free
But, you don’t need it! Why is that he replied
Because, your going to sell it to me!!
We sparred back and forth for a bit, and it became mine
Then it got tricky
The CL seller, got it from the original owner; who didn’t want to give up the title because it was in her husbands name ; who had recently passed away.
Oh well, I’ll take the risk
So, I went to the guy I bought it from with my car trailer and picked him up to go fetch the truck from the first flippers house.
The wierd thing was, we all were honest about what was happening.
So, I picked up the truck and let go of $$ without a title (holding $500 back)
However the original flipper knew the widow of the truck owner. And he would try and call her. To get the title; then give it to the second flipper, since I technically bought it from him.
Every week I would call the second flipper to see if there was any news
He finally got tired of hearing from me and started group texting me with the first flipper.
Once they Both got tired of hearing from me, the original flipper gave me the original owners phone number
I called her, and arranged a time to come meet
Yes it was emotional, yet a very heartfelt conversation
Which made it that much more special, I was able to get the truck

Probably the luckiest deal I ever did
Once I had the title, I called the second flipper. ‘I have 5 bills for you’

One of the rarest, yet ugliest truck I will ever own
