You are correct that the grille doesn't seem right, but for the big trucks it is. GM didn't redesign the grille for the 63 big trucks, they just carried over the 62 grille. A darn shame they did it that way because I think the regular 63 grille is one of the best ones, but I wasn't around back then to design an 63 only big truck grille
