Our electric was over $400. I think it was over $500 one month two years ago when it was 118º in the shade. We always try to be thrifty, to the point of quite a bit of discomfort. I will be the first to admit that I blasted that air conditioner. I knew it was going to be a high bill. I've lived in places with no A/C. I didn't care for it.

I try to be thrifty as well. Who wants a high bill? But when do you fold? When you're sitting in a puddle of sweat with a wet towel on your head. No thanks. Been there. Done that.

And as far as those ridiculous EV's are concerned. They can kiss the smelly part of my anatomy. This heat wave is just a prime example of how bad of an idea it is to shove them down everyone's throat's. It's not going to work. We can barely keep the power on now. We have almost 40 million people in California alone. What happens if everyone plugs in EV's at the same time? We're going to blow a fuse. They're already blowing fuses without the added strain on the system.

If some tree hugger knocks out my air conditioner plugging in his EV, then I'm going throw my warm beer at him.
