So apparently the sending unit on my pickup is not GM original? I guess that figures ... the guy that had it before (I bought it from his ex-wife) was pretty wacky, used wrong parts and put things together wrong on all sorts of stuff. For instance, I had it a little before I discovered that the main through bolt was missing from the motor mount on one side
I just thought there must be some sort of trick to it that I was not seeing. So I guess I will order a
new sending unit and hopefully find a female connector that I can crimp or splice into the end of the existing broken wire <sigh>
