I went almost a year without changing mine, but then again mine has a "self-changing oil system".
It used to leak/burn (the valve umbrella seals are bad) about a quart every 2-3 weeks. So I just add accordingly.
So is the VIN on the very top of the frame rail? And is it the complete VIN? (All 17 letters/numbers?)
Thanks!!
