I had to go the small screw route. With my glass in there was no way to get the fuzzy between the glass and the door. The bumper in the bottom of the door was out and still no way to get the glass to drop below flush with the bottom of the window opening. Pull the window, put in the strips, crank up the window and they'd pop loose. Of all the things I've done on my truck, working with the door weatherstripping and glass was the biggest PITA.
