Plywood by its construction using layers of material with the grains running at approximately 90 degrees from each other and separated by films of glue are resistant to resonance. More resistant than steel would be.
To get the maximum resistance to resonance using a product like MDF would be best. MDF is used in speaker enclosures for just that reason.
