I understood that. My point is that a Fire Extinguisher is an important piece of equipment, most especially when you need one. Grabbing a dud unit in an emergency can be disastrous.
It's the equivalent of responding to the call of: ''Is there a doctor in the house?''
with, "Why, yes, I have a PhD in Oriental Philosophy.''
Having a real, good-to-go fire extinguisher also on hand is better, but there's still the issue of the probability of someone -- in a panic -- grabbing the historically-correct dud artifact, instead of the life-saving device, when seconds count.
And if you don't think there will ever be a fire on one of these old trucks, you haven't been around them long enough.
