I think I could inject some more and seal it with a dab of epoxy. They have shot up in price now.
I like a magnetic compass as a back up to the GPS.

I drilled a small hole in the top of mine, used a syringe needle to fill with baby oil. Then threaded a small screw with an O ring to seal, just incase I need to fill it again. I used the compass on my cell phone to align North on the compass. I have had it in my truck for a few months now and still seems to be working well.
