As an Air Force veteran, and BIL of Gary, I was able to make the trip also.

I think the most emotional experience for me, besides the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, was finding out that the plane that hit the Pentagon came right above the Air Force Memorial, which had not been there at the time. You could look between two trees and see exactly where it hit.

For anyone who is eligible for an Honor Flight, I recommend making it.
